Grace Guarin
UCSF Program Coordinator
Grace joined the UCSF-UCB RWJF HSS team in 2007. Grace received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development/Health Care and Social Issues from UCSD and her Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. Her work experience includes an internship in Chennai, India with Unite for Sight and clinical work as an Ophthalmic Technician at the UCSF Dept. of Ophthalmology. Grace is happy to be involved with such a successful program and is excited to be working with the scholars and faculty.
Tammy Hwang
UCB Program Coordinator
Tammy joined the UCSF-UCB RWJF HSS team in 2009. Before joining the HSS team, she worked as an assistant for the RWJF Health Policy Research Program at Berkeley. She is currently a senior at UC Berkeley, studying public health and political science. Tammy is happy to work with the scholars and is excited to receive exposure to current research in public health.
Edgar Micua joined the RWJ HSSP team in early 2006. As the Program Assistant, Edgar provides a key supportive role by providing administrative support including accounting services for the program and scholars, content management of program web site and setting up a number of program meetings, seminars and events. Prior to joining UCSF, Edgar worked for an audio tour company, Acoustiguide, as an Exhibition Audio Sales Manager at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco. Edgar is focused on being an active team member in maintaining the program direction and goals.
Dina Dudum Freij, MPA
Program Manager
Dina Dudum Freij joined the UCSF-UCB Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholars team in 2002, during the first cohort selection process. Dina graduated from San Francisco State University with a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor of Health Science degree. Her work experience includes tobacco cessation research at UCSF and health education at the American Cancer Society. Dina’s favorite aspect of the program is interacting with the scholars and various collaborators in the field.
Jennifer Taggart
Grants Analyst
Jennifer Taggart joined the UCSF-UCB Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholars team in 2003, during the first year of the program. Jennifer’s work experience includes grants administration for the School of Dentistry Department of Growth and Development and as an analyst for the Research Administration Program, a program that trains analysts in grants administration at UCSF. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is happy to be involved with a program that focuses on alternative approaches to population health.
